Description
When purchased, in 2009, this car was a hillclimb/sprint/road car. Over the following years, it was converted into a FIA appendix K spec race car. Competing in Equipe GTS series in 2017/18, often finishing in the top ten, in group A, and best result I achieved was a 6th at Snetterton 2018.
The engine is a 2138cc with twin 45DCOE Webers fitted. Last rolling road session produced 164BHP at the road wheel @ 5500 RPM. Last compression check I carried out, at end of 2018 season, all 4 pots were 200 P.S.I. It has the original crank and pistons with Carrillo steel rods and a CR-Z-98 camshaft fitted. The car has not been raced since the end of 2018.
The gearbox is a close ratio helical cut box built by Peter Cox, with a new uprated TR8 V8 clutch fitted. Also comes with a 4.1:1 Tran-X LSD and the rear axle was overhauled by Hardy Engineering in 2018.
In 2019 the car had the rear crankseal replaced with an uprated Viton type seal. A new windscreen fitted along with new pads and shoes front and back and serviced. It also has the anti knock off spacers fitted to help eliminate that "long brake pedal issue" TR's are renowned for.
Internally, a Rollcentre Racing full roll cage is fitted, Sparco Sprint seat, brand new 6 point TRS Harness and fully plumbed in Zero 2000 Lifeline Fire Extinguisher (serviced Feb 2021) system.
The body is built with all steel panels, these were to replace the fibreglass panel used in its Hillclimb/sprint days.
The car comes with 2 sets of 15" 5.5J Minilites fitted with Dunlop CR65 Historic Race Tyres, 4 x Brand new L section, 4 x part worn L section.
The seat is out of date, however, it is still good for racing in the UK. Also, if you intend to race with Equipe GTS, then the engine will need sealing.
Thanks for looking.
