A rare opportunity to acquire a rare historic formula Ford 1600 Alexis mk18
The engine fitted is totally unknown I’ve not started it and I note it doesn’t have the correct carb fitted so could well be a road engine so please assume it is for this sale. The car came from the US I’m told by the pervious owner. I managed to source the original chassis drawings for it which confirmed its originality these are included in the sale in hard copy print and digital format. The body is nice and tidy and has been re painted before I bought it. Although the car is rare new body panels are available from Ian Rowley delta motorsport, suspension is available from URS I believe and uprights are available from Stuart Rolt. The gearbox I haven’t checked but can take the back off for inspection if you are interested. The car will need some work doing to it to get it race ready, belts, fire ext, and other general commissioning it will also need a drive shaft sorting out for the right hand side, but I have the parts.
The car has already had work carried out on to get it ready for racing again. It has had to e braking system completely overhauled, along with the water pipes re made in aluminium and the plumbing of these carried out.
The car will be a competitive addition to the popular Hscc Historic and Classic Formula Ford 1600 championships I’ve personally won the historic championship in the less desirable Mk14 Alexis.
I can also provide components for a race engine should parts be needed by the new owner.
This is a great opportunity to get on the grid for a very reasonable amount, this is priced to sell so grab a bargain and put a smile on your face.
