With the Giulietta, Alfa Romeo has in fact "invented" an unprecedented displacement for cars: the 1300.
A small enough engine created to limit production and purchase costs of the car.
The Giulietta Sprint was presented as a pre-series prototype at the Turin Motor Show on 19 March 1954.
The success of the new model was such that Alfa Romeo had to review its production programs, in fact, already at the end of the opening day of the show, orders exceeded 500 units.
The modern and sleek line contributed to the success of this model, even the price, much lower than that of its older sister 1900 Super Sprint coupé Touring, encouraged customers to buy it.
The set-up could be in four colors: Alfa red, tornado blue, gardenia white and Capri blue.
Sales of the Giulietta immediately reached significant values: 1,855 in 1956, the year in which the normal Sprint was joined by the Veloce version.
The Veloce distinguishes itself from the Sprint thanks to a restyling of the line aimed at lightening the car's components and, above all, an increase in power and performance.
