Initially built with a Hartwell Imp engine. Running through a 5 speed Hewland MK9 big layshaft and 1" x 23 input shaft inboard disks and centre nut peg drive hubs. The gearbox is rated at 180ftlbs by Hewland so suitable up to most 2ltr engines.
The car was intially white. Later upgraded by Pater Thurston to a Ford BDA engine along with strengthened chassis and updated suspension settings. The basic suspension stayed as Delta designed and built. The chassis flexed too much. Once completed massivly improved the handling and Peter was able to peddle the car around Lydden just shy of a F3 car.
At that time it was re-panelled and a new fibreglass shell formed. Wheelbase std imp and silhouette above centreline of wheels std so meets many race, sprint and hillclimb regulations.
All components in good condition.
There is a full feature in Retro Cars Aug 03 edition in the UK.
I have only used the car on a few track days and sprints
